Hotel Policies

Accessibility:


The 1909 building does not have an elevator. Our Front Desk attendant will porter your luggage to your suite upon request. Please note that Suite 101, our handicapped suite, is located on the ground floor.  

Arrivals & Departures:


Check-in is guaranteed by 4:00 p.m. In the event you should arrive earlier, please check with us as we may have your suite ready. No check-ins before 2:00 p.m., please. Your reserved room can be available for you even for very late arrivals. Check-out is at 11:00 a.m. Late check-outs can be arranged at time of check-in, are based upon availability, and may be subject to additional charges. We ask that you be respectful of this time since our cleaning staff needs access to the rooms.  

Bedding Requests:


There is a sofa sleeper in Suites 101 and 305 ONLY. Bedding can be found in these particular Suites for the sofa sleeper, which is to be made by the guest unless otherwise requested. In addition, there is a Pack n’ Play available in Suite 101, our only family-friendly Suite, for children weighing less than 30 pounds. Bedding for the Pack n’ Play can also be found in that Suite.  

Cancellation:


When you reserve a Suite at our hotel, we agree to turn away all other requests for your Suite and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve. Cancellations more than seven days prior to arrival will result in a $30.00 cancellation fee. Cancellations less than seven days prior to arrival will result in the cost of one night’s stay plus tax or 50% of the cost of the total stay plus tax, whichever is higher. Any and all cancellation situations (that are not the responsibility of our hotel) are treated as any other (including, but not limited to, health issues, weather, work or family problems, forest fires, strikes, acts of God, etc.). Please bear these possibilities in mind prior to purchasing your reservation. Be aware that Colorado weather is very unpredictable. Winter weather in the Rockies can lead to hazardous driving conditions, mountain pass driving restrictions or closures, airline delays & cancellations. Our hotel is not responsible for inclement weather. Weather cancellations are treated as any other. Please travel safely! We strongly recommend Travel Insurance sufficient to cover cancellation costs. Travel Insurance, which is generally inexpensive, can save a lot of emotional distress if an unforeseen event occurs.  

Children:


Due to the historic nature of the building, we allow children under the age of 12 years to stay in our ground-level Suite 101 ONLY. Children age 12 years and older are welcome to stay in any suite on the second or third floor when accompanied by an adult.  

Equipment Storage:


We have secure ground-level storage for bikes, skis and snowboards as these and similar items are NOT allowed in your suite.  

Extra Persons:


Suites are designed and intended for use by not more than two adults. Exceptions are Suite 101 (maximum of 4 people), Suite 205 (maximum of 4 people), and Suite 305 (maximum of 6 people). There is an additional charge of $22.00 per person/per night for Suite 305 when accommodating more than 4 people.  

Gift Certificate Redemption:


Palace Hotel Gift Certificates must be redeemed within 12 months of issue date. Original, unaltered Gift Certificate must be presented and validated at check in. No copies, receipts, or notes will be considered valid. Gift Certificates can only be credited against current room rates. Gift Certificates cannot be shared. Gift Certificates will be credited against Bearers room charges only. No credit will be given for unused portion but consecutive days may be applied. Gift Certificates cannot be combined with any other discount. Gift Certificates must be issued by The Palace Hotel.  

Non-smoking Facility:


  Smoking of any substance is not allowed inside the hotel or on the hotel fire escapes. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in a minimum fee of $250.00.  

Parking:


We have reserved parking for our hotel guests. Please obtain a parking permit from our Front Desk attendant at the time of check-in.  

Payment:


  A valid credit card must be presented at the time of check-in. We accept Credit, Debit, Cash, and Gift Certificates. We do not accept check payment without prior approval. Guests wishing to pay with cash must provide a valid credit card at check-in.  

Pets:


We allow not more than two dogs (no cats or exotic pets) less than 50 pounds to stay in Suite 101 ONLY for an additional one-time fee of $25.00. Dogs weighing over 50 pounds are not allowed unless they are a registered service animal.  Suite 101 is equipped with dog bowls. Please do not use dishes from the kitchen to feed or water your dog.  

Pre-Authorization:


Seven days prior to your arrival we may pre-authorize the credit card on file for the total amount of the reservation. The full amount will be charged upon arrival.  

Refunds:


  Suite charges are non-refundable after payment at check-in. There is no refund for early check-outs.
